Academic and
Career and Technical Education Scholarships
Information for Academic Applicants
In previous years the SAT and/or ACT exams have been required for all academic applicants. For the 2023-2024 award period these exams are optional but recommended. SAT/ACT results may boost your scholarship rating.
Information for CTE Applicants
In prior years only academic scholarships were offered to students pursuing a 2-4 year college degree directly out of high school. Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs continue to grow in importance in our current educational climate. CTE bridges the gap between high school and postsecondary employment and independent living.
CTE high school programs include career skills training that help students become ready for work or perhaps college. The curriculum focuses on academic, employability, and technical skills used in a specific occupation.
CTE may well be the key to economic development in our country. Hence the MSJF program will now offer scholarships for postsecondary education/training at a career/technical/vocational/trade school with an integrated standards-aligned curriculum.
Scholarship applicants must plan to attend an institute accredited by the Council on Occupational Education (COE) and approved by the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC).
